Sociology
A crash course in statistics, graphs and tables to help Sociology students
struggling with these tools. Built with interactions, spirited motion graphics and voice over.
Mean, Median and Mode
We started by reviewing two key textbooks and having a series of
conversations with the editor and content expert. After conference
calls to brainstorm and a round of design sketches, we focused
specifically on statistics.
Through storyboards we explored various ways of presenting these concepts.
Animation is used effectively throughout to retain attention and to underscore
the concepts presented.
Through a series of conversations and evolving storyboards, we worked with
the editor to determine when and how students should be asked to apply what
was being presented by responding to questions and making calculations. (We
built in a flash calculator.)
One of the best things about working in Flash is the ability to integrate instruction,
interaction and quizzing in a single interface.
